We consume different kinds of processed unhealthy foods, soft drinks and alcohol. There is a popular claim that homemade detox foot pads can remove toxins from these substances. Is it true? Let’s find out.

Other bad habits, such as cigarettes, are greatly affecting the health of modern humans. Also, there is the pollution of the environment, unhealthy lifestyle… In this way, all different kinds of toxins are deposited in our body and make us less healthy species than any other inhabitant of Earth. In simple words, every day we are getting sicker.

It would be wonderful to wake up one morning without all thosetoxins in the body and feel reborn. Imagine just waking up and feeling full of energy and without any pain or discomfort. That sounds unbelievable, doesn’t it?

I know you’re ready to jump out of bed and start being creative, productive and awesome. Any human would feel more than happy to have this powerful feeling in the morning. Some people believe there’s a way to remove those toxins and take advantage of some of these great feelings.

This is something that many therapies promise, but do any of them really work? Is it truly possible to liberate your body from all the toxins?

Are homemade foot pads really a miracle detox remedy?

Many people swear by the power of homemade detox foot pads. The claims are that this process came from an ancient process from Japan, and has been used for centuries. Well, I wish I could swear by them too, but first, let’s take a look at whether or not this remedy really works.

First, here are the claims:

This option of detoxing the body with these footpads is supposed to be really easy and cheap. You simply position them on the soles of your feet at bedtime to start the process. As the pads remain on the feet, detoxification and cleaning purify the body. This is the claim.

In the morning, you will wake up fresh, rested and enthusiastic. These pads are easy and cheap to make, and people swear by them. The proof of their efficiency is supposed to be evidence of dark brown stains of toxins in the pads that you will remove.

The claims of these detox foot pads include removal of constant fatigue. Also, you are promised to get rid ofjoint painand have fewer headaches.

Detox pads are also supposed to forceblood circulationand lymph in the torso. In fact, our sedentary lifestyle is to be blamed for that circulation ‘stuck’ around the ankles, the lower legs, and feet.

And here are the facts:

According to sources, there is no validity in these claims. In fact, there have been zero scientific studies which support the use of detox foot pads. Some distributors have even been charged with false advertising. So, there is a bit of doubt about whether these foot pads really work.

What about the dark color that appears on the pads in the morning, you may ask? The supporters of this remedy claim that this is nothing but the toxins and heavy metals extracted from your body through the foot pads.

However, once again, there is no evidence that something like this takes place in your body when you use foot pads. Experts say that the dark colors on the pads most probably have to do with the mixture of vinegar and sweat.

In fact, a journalist from ABC News tried foot pads herself and found that dropping distilled water on them resulted in the same dark color!

But, if you want to try the process anyway, here’s what you will need to make homemade detox foot pads:

You will need:

  • A piece of onion
  • 1, 2 cloves of garlic
  • Water
  • An ordinary gauze or adhesive gauze
  • Patch to fix
  • Cotton socks

Procedure:

First finely chop garlic and onion. Set them aside. Second, put a pot filled with water to boil, then add the onion and garlic. Allow it to boil for 10 minutes. Remove the mixture from heat and allow it to cool for 20 minutes.

The fourth step is to pour a little bit of this liquid to a piece of gauze, just enough to be soaked. If you use a self-adhesive gauze make sure that the sticky part does not get wet. If you wet the gauze too much, squeeze out any excess liquid.

Place this padin the middle of the foot sole(if you use plain gauze secure it with a patch). Put on the socks so that the pads do not fall off.

It’s your choice

Although I would love to believe these homemade detox foot pads are a great method that could remove all my excess everyday stress, I can’t bank on it. For better results, consuming onions and garlic can greatly improve your health, especially the immune system. You may not know, but garlic is a natural antibiotic.

Many symptoms of a different daily overload of toxins and stress will disappear with consumption of the right nutrients, and this is a proven fact.

If you want to try the detox foot pad method, go ahead. Just remember, there are no facts backing this theory, and if it doesn’t work, you’ll just have to study something more factual in the quest to improve your health and detox your body.
