Perhaps you’re thinking right now that there isn’t too much you can do to get motivated when you are in low spirits, but you couldn’t be more wrong!

That’s right, there are lots of (easy) things you could do to get your motivation back, and we are bringing some of them to you right here. You’ll soon be able to push away all those negative thoughts about how making you feel energized is too hard.

So, without further ado, let’s start to get motivated right now!

Do Some Exercise

This may not be the first thing that springs to your mind when trying to battle with a problem in your head, but it certainly helps. Keeping your body in good shape and treating it with healthy nutritious foods is one of the basic steps.

If you’re feeling down, do a set of exercises, go to the gym, go running, or go for a stroll. Any type of physical activity and motion has the power to lift your mood.

Set Realistic Goals

One of the main reasons why people lose their motivation is the fact they are too focused on unrealistic goals. In the meantime, why don’t you give yourself praise for the little things, which actually make a big part of your life?

For instance, waking up on time, or making the bed. Taking out the trash. Buying basic groceries. If you wouldn’t do any of these, your life would be a complete mess, but you’re keeping it together, aren’t you? On that account, give yourself a pat on the back, because you fully deserve it!

Want to Get Motivated? Visualize Success!

You’ve heard of this before, but here’s the key part. While imagining yourself doing some activities, do focus on how you feel instead of what you are imagining.

For example, you may visualize you are living in a huge mansion with three Ferraris parked in front, or just having enough money for the rent. But, does that make you feel anything, or are you just good at picturing every single detail while feeling empty?

Instead, do try to evoke a feeling. If you can’t summon the feeling, try another smaller scale fantasy. It’s the emotions that are the purpose of the visualization technique, not developing imagination.

Recognize the Negative

The moment you notice you’ve started feeling down again, you should know you have the power to stop it!

They say negative thoughts are like a wild horse – you are riding it, you can’t control or tame it, and you are the only one who can choose to get off of it. After all, isn’t it logical to get away from something which is making you feel bad?

The second you realize this, remove your focus deliberately to a random thing from your immediate surroundings. It can be the sky, the house, the traffic sign, the shopping window… Anything goes, and it will help you get out of the downward spiral and get yourself motivated.

Stay Healthy

We have already mentioned the importance of your organism being healthy if you wish to feel good about yourself because sometimes it’s not our mind, it’s our body that is causing all this.

For instance, we may be feeling depressed because our brain is short of neurochemicals like serotonin or dopamine. Endocannabinoids (yes, there are natural cannabinoids in our brain) also play an important role in controlling our emotions.

Therefore, the lack of these may contribute to depressed feelings and low mood. For this reason, marijuana cannabinoids can take the role of our innate cannabinoids and improve our mood.

Dress Up

A simple, superficial, yet, very effective technique. Like it or not, but we all love looking at ourselves in the mirror. Don’t wait for some special reason to look your best (and feel your best), when you can do it right now.

Wear your favorite outfit, book an appointment at the hairdresser, pamper yourself with a new pair of shoes or maybe just iron your shirt. You will see that something as simple as that will help you get motivated in the short term. Remember, small changes go a long way.

Delegate

One of the reasons you may have lost your motivation could be the fact that you have taken on too many obligations. Put them all on paper and see if you are right.

If that’s true, start delegating. There is nothing wrong with assigning tasks to others or asking them for help. No man is an island, and no man/woman is meant to do everything on their own.

Getting motivated is not as difficult as it seems

As you can see, there are plenty of ways to start feeling good about yourself again. Hopefully, all these options have improved your mood a bit, and now it’s time you started applying some of them. What is more, you can begin right now!
