Honey is healthy, most people know that. We know that it’s an effective way to boost energy, strengthen immunity, and fight bacterial infections. But the healing properties of honey extend way beyond that.
In fact, you’ll probably be surprised at this long list of ailments and health issues that honey can help prevent and treat.
It’s about time that people learn about the healing properties of honey.
Eye Problems
Despite what you might think, honey’s efficacy as a treatment for eye diseases is not a new discovery. It has been used by Indians and Egyptians during ancient times to improve eyesight as well as treat eye infections, conjunctivitis, cataract, and trachoma. It has also been found to provide relief for dry eye syndrome and prevent glaucoma in the early stage.

Heart Disease
According to the 2009 International Journal of Food Sciences and Nutrition, honey is good for the heart as it improves the circulation of blood and prevents blockage in the arteries.
It works by reducing LDL levels and increasing HDL levels (LDL is bad cholesterol while HDL is good cholesterol). It also inhibits the build-up of cholesterol on the walls of the blood vessels.

Cancer
According to a study conducted at the United Arab Emirates University, honey has a positive effect on cancer treatment. Researchers explain that honey has the ability to inhibit the growth and spread of various cancer cells such as those in skin cancer, prostate cancer, colon cancer and breast cancer.
Not only that, but it’s also an excellent way to boost the count of white blood cells during chemotherapy treatments. More research is needed to back up these claims but certainly, honey can be included in a cancer patient’s diet as a safer and healthier alternative to sugar.
