Times will get tough, it’s just a part of life. There are, however, many comforting quotes to boost your morale and provide strength.

Life isn’t always easy, then again, sometimes it is. But for the sake of argument, let’s say this is the worst time of your life. Let’s say you feel as though you want to give up. Don’t do it. Don’t let your tough times get the best of you. Before you let the tough times take control, consider reading a few motivational quotes.

They cannot take away all your problems, but they can give you strength to make the right decisions in this difficult time.

What are comforting quotes?

They are statements that give you a different perspective on your problems. They help you see the bigger picture in life. So, you’ve lost your job, well, first of all, you need all the help you can get. Boosting your morale is a good start.

Let’s read a few comforting quotes that might give you a little push.

1. “Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent.”

-Eleanor Roosevelt

Here’s one for those who struggle with low self-esteem. You see, not all problems are about losing jobs or dealing with automobile trouble. Some problems cannot be touched with the human hand.

Some problems reside within our minds and have to be dealt with in a different way. If you feel inferior because of another person, it’s time to see their attacks as childish, These verbal attacks reflect them more than you. You are just as beautiful and talented as the next guy.

2. “What lies behind you and what lies in front of you, pales in comparison to what lies inside of you.”

-Ralph Waldo Emerson

The past may have been hard for you. I can relate to this. The future may be frightening as well. I can also relate to this fact as my anxiety tends to make me worry about what’s going to happen. Yes, it’s hectic sometimes and you feel trapped by your past and your future…uggh.

Well, remember this, you have this powerful core inside of you. You have the ability to do anything you want and face anything head on. No matter how controlling the past and future may seem, it’s nothing compared to what you can accomplish or what you can deal with.

3. “Pain is your friend, pain is your ally. Pain reminds you to finish the job and get the hell home. Also, pain tells you when you’ve been seriously wounded. And you know what the best thing about pain is? It tells you-you’re not dead yet.”

-G. I Jane

This quote from the movie, G.I Jane, is tough. The truth is, sometimes you need a tough comforting quote to go up against these tough times in life. No one likes to hurt, I get it, but the pain is sometimes necessary for life. Here’s a secret.

Pain not only hurts, no this is not its only role in your life. Pain also forms who you are. So, when it hurts so bad inside, use this hurt to build you, strengthen you, and give you a purpose in life. One more thing, pain can also be a compass, pointing you in the right direction and helping you make the right decisions.

4. “Problems are not stop signs, they are guidelines.”

-Robert Schuller

When you encounter a tough problem, think of this comforting quote. Try to see your problem in a different way. When things happen, don’t stop and fall apart. Instead of letting your problems block you from the good things in life, use the problem to guide you….just as I mentioned about the pain, you see!

5. “Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.”

-Thomas Edison

This comforting quote is sad as well. Unfortunately, people fail by not holding on long enough. Many individuals give up right before the breakthrough comes. So, the important thing to remember is to give it your all, be patient, dig in, and take some time to work on your problems before running away from them. If you give things a little time to work out, they may, indeed, get better.

6. “You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it”

-Maya Angelou

First off, there will be many tough times. The key is to stay strong and not let these tough times destroy you or your standards. One of the best parts about these tough times, however, is that they make you who you are.

Just think about it, after the problems are over, you will be an even better individual than you were before. You will then see your true strength.

Final Words

Before you decide to throw in the towel, sit down and read a few of these quotes -y ou will be surprised how effective and comforting these little statements can be. I sometimes read through quotes like this when it seems I am at my wit’s end.

Life is hard, I know honey, but life was not promised to be easy. So, what shall you do with life today? I hope you take hold of those tough times and turn them around. And if it takes some patience, don’t panic. Life changes all the time, and this too shall pass.
