Nothing helps you heal and stay motivated for moving forward in life like quotes. You can find wisdom from uplifting and empowering words such as these.

I used to find motivational quotes to be corny and of no use. Boy, was I wrong about that? No matter how deep I Plummeted into depression, the right quote could shed a bit of light into my dark world.

Yes, I guess I’m sounding pretty corny myself about right now, but I’m telling the truth. Quotes have the power to change your mindset about moving forward in life in a short period.

Some of the best quotes about moving forward

When we fall into depression, many times it comes from repeating negative words in our heads. It also means dwelling on negative circumstances from the present and the past and letting them take root in our minds.

To combat these negative phrases and thoughts, we need a few quotes to prove we still have a bright future if we have the courage to move forward. Although life may be beating us down, and maybe we’ve suffered a great loss, we can still move forward and grow stronger.

Let’s start healing now.

1. “You cannot move forward if your emergency brake is on.”

~ Angela Cicilia, Follow Your Bliss

Just like in your car with your emergency brake engaged, you cannot move forward without a great struggle. You are afraid, and your emergency brake is your wall, your comfort, and your safety net.

You must be lifted free, you must be fully engaged in moving and not dragging your feet. The emergency brake of a car is used to keep you from rolling out of control. You might say it’s a form of holding back.

How can you move forward if you’re holding back?

2. “Our scars make us who we are. Wear them proudly and move forward.”

~ Jane Linfoot, The Little Wedding Shop by the Sea

While scars once hurt so badly, they are only scars. Yes, they can be ugly as well. The truth about scars, however, is that they tell a story of what we’ve been through.

It’s not a story of defeat, rather a story of survival. We should wear these markings with pride because we have fought and we have come through the battle to live another day.

3, “Life is about how much you can take and keep fighting, how much you can suffer and keep moving forward.”

~ Anderson Silva

I am feeling this quote so deeply today. It seems sometimes like I cannot take any more of the torture that life gives me, but guess what, I realize after all that I can.

I am stronger than I ever thought I was, obviously. Feeling the pain and yet trying another day shows just how powerful you are. This gives me hope for tomorrow.

4. “Mistakes are acceptable if they are the results of moving forward.”

~ Andrew Yang

We all make mistakes, it’s true. But what caused you to falter? If your mistakes were made living life in a rut, then yes, they are your mistakes to fix and your explanations to provide. On the other hand, if you make mistakes by moving forward in life, then these mistakes are called progress.

Why? Because mistakes of this nature are called experience, and they are called lessons. These are great souvenirs when moving forward.

5. “Never give up. When your heart becomes tired, walk with your legs- but move on.”

~ Paulo Coelho

Wow! What a beautiful moving forward quote. Think about it for a second. Yes, we walk with our legs but think about all the wonderfully exciting endeavors we run towards with our hearts.

Sometimes, we are almost floating on air, and flying swiftly to our desires. But what if life throws us curveballs, and what if depression sinks in. Will we run toward the future with heavyweights on our hearts? If we aren’t driven we will not.

So, this is what I say, just walk forward, just move with your body until your heart is able to follow once more. N0 matter how much you don’t want to keep going, just do it anyway.

6. “Guilt can be an unrelenting source of pain. It keeps us stuck in the past and prevents us from moving forward.”

~ Darlene Lancer, Freedom from Guilt and Blame

One thing you must do in order to move forward is to get rid of guilt. Yes, I know this sounds easier than it seems, but it is possible. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done in the past, you deserve a second chance to make things right and to achieve your dreams. Just let it go, and move on.

7. “It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.”

~ Confucious

Moving forward does not require you to advance fast. No, it only means you should keep going despite how slowly you move. Quotes like this one remind us that we are all good enough and deserve to keep moving forward.

Don’t ever let someone tell you that you’re going too slow. You use your own pace for success.

8. “There are those who are scrupulously afraid of doing wrong that they seldom venture to do anything.”

-Vauvenargues

Don’t let the fear of making mistakes keep you from making any moves at all. This happens to so many people, including myself. Many times, I will not take steps in fear of the negative consequences.

Please, don’t let this type of attitude hold you back.

9. “Do one thing every day that scares you.”

~ Eleonor Roosevelt

If you manage to tackle one frightening task per day, you will see yourself change and advance in ways you never thought possible. Fear is a binding force keeping us from realizing that the impossible could most certainly be possible after all.

Push yourself to do something that seems hard, and you will notice how much you’re moving forward in life.

10. “What’s meant to be will always find a way.”

~ Trisha Yearwood

I will leave you with one more moving forward quote to help you get started on your journey. Just remember, whatever is meant to happen will happen. If you believe in fate, you will surely get what’s planned for your life, and nothing will be able to stop that from occurring.

Use these moving forward quotes to help guide you and heal you at the same time. Share these quotes with friends and family as well. After all, you never know who could be quietly suffering and too bold to ask for help.

I hope life treats you well this day and send positive vibes your way.
