As we grow old, we should visit our dentist once and then to check our teeth, but if you’re afraid of doctors just as I am, you can try to whiten your teeth at home.

Over time, our teeth can fade in colour and one of the main reasons for this is usually due to lack of brushing them or from the things that we eat and drink on a daily basis.

For example, that lovely cup of coffee you have to wake you up in a morning is actually one of the biggest culprits to stained teeth.

However, there are some fantastic ways that you can help restore your teeth’s natural white shine, and the following home remedies have been proven to do the job.

So here is the list of the natural remedies that can help you whiten your teeth by yourself.

1. Apples and Strawberries Together

Apples and strawberries not only contain vitamin C which is needed for your body to maintain a healthy lifestyle, but they also have acidic content.

The acid content can actually begin to clean the stains from your teeth so try brushing your teeth with these fruits to see how well they begin to clean.

2. Neem and Basil Treatment

A natural whitener of teeth is the basil leaf combined with neem, and what you can do with these two properties is make your own toothpaste. The neem and basil will not only whiten your teeth but also protect you from gum diseases.

3. Lemon

Lemons are part of the citric fruit family and just like apples they contain vitamin C and bleaching properties that can work on your teeth to help them glow.

You can either clean your teeth with lemons or just eat a lot of them during the course of each day and you should notice over time that your teeth become whiter.

4. Baking Soda

Probably the most popular of all home remedies is the baking soda trick, simply tap a bit of soda onto your toothpaste and then brush your teeth. You will feel the grains begin to strip your teeth as you brush and you will be left with a smooth and shiny finish.

5. Salt

Who said salt is bad for you? It’s actually good when you come to brush your teeth in the same way that baking soda is. Salt will give your teeth a good scrub and also remove some of the lighter stains.

6. Turmeric

Most of us have some of this in the cupboard at home, and even though it stains things yellow you would be surprised at what this does to your teeth. Using turmeric will actually make your teeth shine with radiance.

7. Banyan roots

A throwaway toothbrush can be made from a banyan root; these contain properties to help whiten and protect your teeth and gums. If you do have serious gum diseases, however, you may want to visit a Paediatric Dentist as these roots only prevent, not cure.

8. Charcoal

It may seem a bit nasty at first, but you can use babul wood and charcoal to rub on the teeth as an alternative to your everyday toothpaste. This trick will bring a good shine to your teeth but it may not taste that great!

9. Aloe Vera

As well as helping to stop cavities, Aloe Vera is nature’s best tooth brightening ingredient and in its gel form, you can simply rub the formula onto your teeth in order to achieve a white smile.

10. Olive Oil

We use olive oil in all types of cooking and this specific remedy contains Vitamin E which helps removes tartar, plaque and protects against tooth decay and diseases.

So what do you think? Are you going to try any of these remedies to whiten your teeth at home?

This is untrue. Nothing takes out this kind of darkness other that dental bleaching with bleach trays….Retired Dental Professional.

  2. gotoothache

Among the most effective home remedies for a toothache is garlic. A clove of garlic with a little rock salt should be placed on the affected tooth. It will relieve the pain and, sometimes, may even cure it. A clove should also be chewed daily in the morning. It will cure the teeth making them strong and healthy.
