Toenail fungus stems from our nutrition.

The first thing to understand about fungus is why it’s there. Most fungus only appears in an environment to break down dying matter.

This may sound scary, but it’s important to understand that the issue actually stems from something underlying in your body’s health – and get to the bottom of it.

Let’s look at the facts: Toes are almost always kept in a dark and moist environment in your shoes and socks. As a result, they don’t get a lot of circulation.

What’s more, gravity pulls down any toxins in our blood and lymphatic system to our feet – and without much movement or light, it’s easy for decay to start.

While prescribed pharmaceutical applications can work at treating the fungus in your feet they are not healthy for your bodily health in the long term, so it’s always best to use natural remedies to treat such natural conditions.

Treat Toenail Fungus from the Outside

Externally, it’s a good idea to soak your feet twice a day in hot water with a cup of sea salt and some tea tree oil. It’s also helpful to scrub your feet regularly.

A great home scrub recipe is Guasha – a mixture of bicarbonate soda and alcohol – can restore the appearance of your feet after a few weeks of treatment.

Treat Toenail Fungus from the Inside

Get to the heart of the problem of toenail fungus by looking internally. If you have a diet of acidic and processed foods you are likely to be making the problem much worse by allowing toxins to build up in your body and accumulate in your feet.

Eat more fruit and vegetables (around 70 percent raw foods) and foods with high water content to alkalize your body and reduce the number of toxins.

A daily vegetable smoothie is a quick and easy way to get all of the nutrients your body and feet need to stay toxin free. Exercise is also beneficial – try to exercise daily even if it is just a light exercise to keep refueling your feet.

If you have a severe fungal problem on your feet you may need to go a step further and partake in a colon cleanse. A colon cleanse really gets to the heart of the internal problem by clearing out any toxicity in your kidneys, liver, and bloodstream – everything that has a negative impact on your feet.

If you have toenail fungus the chances are that you have fungus internally too. A combination of external and internal treatments will clear up the cause inside and out and should leave you fungus free for good.
