It can be all too easy to ignore what your body is trying to tell you. Your body is very clever at giving you hints about what might be wrong with you, and it’s time to listen to it.

Are you feeling less than 100% most of the time? Do you feel unwell on a frequent basis and aren’t sure why? You may have already put it down to age or environment, but it might be something else.

Did you know that your body could be giving you signs that it has too many toxins?

First of all, what’s a toxin? Well, to put it simply, it’s anything that is poisonous to the body. They mostly come from unclean, processed foods. If you get rid of these toxins, then you may find a change in your overall health.

Here are the most common signs that your body has too many toxins and it’s time to do something about it:

1. The extra weight you can’t shift.

If you are trying to lose weight but nothing is working then it could be that your body has a toxin overload. Even if you exercise and watch what you eat it won’t work. There are a number of toxins that are stored in body fat, these are known as lipophilic toxins and can include PCBs, dioxins, and pesticides. Get rid of them!

2. Endless exhaustion.

If you find that you are getting your full eight hours of sleep every night, but that you are waking up feeling extremely tired, it could be a toxin overload again. Having too many toxins in your body can cause an excessive about of stress, which can affect your adrenal glands.

This means that long-term stress, as a result of too many toxins, can lead to adrenal fatigue, which leaves you to feel tired all of the time. Avoid caffeine if you are feeling like this.

3. Insomnia

High levels of toxins can also throw off your cortisol levels. Cortisol is a hormone you release naturally that helps you to deal with stress. These are usually high in the morning and low in the evening.

However, if yours is not functioning properly then they can be the other way round, leaving you feeling energetic in the evening and tired in the morning, and unable to sleep at all.

4. Fuzzy thinking

If you often feel a little bit “all over the place” and in “another world”, this could be down to toxin levels. There are two toxins in particular that have a direct affect on the brain, that’s aspartame and MSG. If you are feeling like this, the first thing to do is to make sure you are not directly or indirectly consuming either of these.

You can find aspartame in sugar-free soft drinks, diet foods, and toothpaste, and MSG in processed foods.

5. Unexplained headaches

If you are getting a number of headaches for no apparent reason, then it could be toxins again. This could be a result of the two toxins above, MSG and aspartame as they have an effect on the brain. However, it could also be the result of heavy metals, artificial preservatives, and artificial colorings.

Stop these signs from occurring by drinking lots of water, avoiding processed foods and drinks, and eating only clean, organic, and fresh food where possible.
