These nine foods have been shown to unclog your arteries and protect your heart and thus prevent a heart attack:

Persea americana or Avocado is not only delicious in sandwiches and on salads, but it’s also extremely healthy. Avocado has been proven to improve blood cholesterol, to help keep arteries clear of any issues.

2. Pomegranate

This delicious fruit is not only sweet and juicy, but it’s also extremely good for your arteries. Its phytochemicals act as antioxidants, helping to protect the lining of the arteries.

Drinking the juice of a pomegranate also helps to stimulate the production of nitric oxide in your body, a chemical that keeps your blood flowing and your arteries clear.

4. Broccoli

This diverse, green vegetable is loved by some and hated by others. However, no one can deny it’s exceptional properties. Broccoli is high in vitamin K, an important vitamin that stops calcium from damaging the arteries.

Probably the least common of all of the foods on this list, spirulina is a blue-green algae that maintains lipid levels in your blood. It’s also an excellent source of protein and amino acids.
