Did you know that marijuana heals the broken bones?

It is a known fact that the use of marijuana can be beneficial in healing a wide range of diseases.

However, a research team in Israel found another benefit of this unusual plant. It had not been discussed anywhere before.

So with the results of their research, it appears that a compound of the plant helps in the healing process of bone fractures.

The new study, published in the journal Journal of Bone and Mineral Researchfound that the broken bones can tie together faster and stronger when the patient got treatment which included cannabinoid cannabidiol (CBD).

This powerful compound contained in hemp does not cause mental or other addictions.

Scientists gave CBD to a group of rats with femoral fractures.

After only eight weeks they saw significant improvement in broken bones. In a second experiment, they made with another group of rats, the scientists used a mixture of CBD and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the psychoactive component of marijuana.

Comparing the results, they concluded that only the CBD was the ingredient that led to effective treatment.

In attempting to explain the action of CBD, the researchers concluded that people have an internal system of substitute production of cannabis, which regulates a number of physiological processes including several items concerning the skeleton.

Thus, the human brain is prepared to respond to cannabinoids, even those coming from an external source such as marijuana. The team leader Dr. Yankel Gabet, said:

“the CBD not only healed bones but made them stronger, as well as enhanced the production of collagen. Indeed these bones will be much harder to break again in the future. “

The goal of the Israeli team was to prove that the benefits of marijuana in the healing process of bones is crucial. Special forms of cannabis may have a positive influence on dozens of diseases, from blood sugar control to the slowing of HIV spread in the body.

Research on the CBD suggests that it may also be effective in reducing the impact of multiple sclerosis. It can stop many kinds of aggressive metastatic cancers. It even can kill cancer cells in individuals with leukemia and serve as an alternative treatment for many psychotic diseases.

Up to today, 23 countries around the world have legalized the use of marijuana for medical purposes.

We have built some prejudices around cannabis and everything concerning the free use by individuals. But things are slowly changing.

Further investigation of natural elements, as shown, can act therapeutically to many more diseases than those we know today.
