In youth, life seems like a blank page of a book waiting to be written.

We constantly search for things we didn’t experience before, we want to live life like there is no tomorrow.

In all that haste, we often forget how precious the simple moments from everyday life are. Drinking a cup of coffee at your favorite cafe or a visit to the library can be more rewarding than a wild night out with friends.

We take life for granted, thinking that we will be forever young. There is always a new thing, a new adventure. What if there isn’t and if while we were rushing to the next excitement something got lost. It’s usually the memories that get lost, memories of beautiful times we had with our girlfriends and boyfriends, or the memories of how that old library use to smell, the little things that made life a happy one.

One thing is certain in life.

Moments of Youth

Everything changes and before you know it, things that made you happy, are long gone on the pile of unsorted impressions. South Korean illustrator Aeppol creates images that beautifully capture those short moments we so often forget. His series of images called ‘The Blossom of Youth’ depicts those short periods of time before they disappear forever. He describes the nature of the moments he captures on his illustrations with these words:

‘The shortness of these times makes it shine out brighter and more brilliant. The moments are contained in these illustrations, which are pure, gently, and with sad eyes drawn to the canvas.’

Indeed Aeppol’s images grab the attention and evoke sadness because we all had those brief periods of time that at one moment made us feel beautiful and in the next one they were gone.
