They may not be the cure for everything, but feel good quotes have the power to make you feel better in an instant! Why not give them a try!

I don’t know about the rest of you, but the aftermath of holidays can make me depressed. I’m not sure if it’s the fact that they are over or the fact that so many loved ones are no longer here to enjoy them.

Regardless, sometimes I need a few feel-good quotes to put things back into perspective.

This is how they work!

Feel good quotes aren’t miracle workers and they cannot fix every problem. What they can do is make you think in a different way for a while. Hearing inspirational words and motivational statements have the power to brighten your day.

Here are 10 feel-good quotes that just might get you over those holiday side effects.

“If you want to feel good, you have to go out and do some good.”

-Oprah Winfrey

First of all, you can’t lay around in the grubs all day long every day. Right now, I’m struggling just to get out of bed, and these quotes are helping me! In order to feel the best about yourself, you must first get out there and do good things for other people.

Even if you are an introvert, if you are down and can’t seem to get back up, you might have to strike out into an uncomfortable area for a while. Trust me, it works, and happiness will visit before you know it.

“Success is not about how much money you make, it’s about the difference you make in people’s lives”

-The First lady Michelle Obama

Never make the assumption that success comes from money. It doesn’t. True success comes from what you do for others and the imprint you leave upon them. Yes, money helps reach places to do things for these people, but true success is in your mindset and how much you wish to give.

“Just keep swimming”

-Dora, from Finding Nemo

It’s simple! Never ever give up on life. No matter how bad it gets, or how hopeless it seems, there is something amazing waiting just around the corner. If you keep swimming, you will reach your goals.

“You really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world.”

-Lucille Ball

Before you can tackle those large issues, and before you enjoy your loved ones, you must first learn to appreciate and love yourself. Without ample love for yourself, you will suffer both physically and mentally, and this doesn’t help your other responsibilities.

So, don’t feel so hopeless! Take time for yourself, it’s not wrong to do so.

“It’s never too late- never too late to start over, never too late to be happy.”

-Jane Fonda

So what if you’re already in mid-life, or even if you’re in the winter of your life, you can still do great things! It’s never too late to enjoy a healthy relationship, and it’s never too late to pick up a new sport or hobby.

Stop feeling sorry for yourself and mulling over past experiences. The time is now! It’s time to get out there and live like a young adult!

“We touch other people’s lives simply by existing.”

-J.K. Rowling

Our existence is never wasted. Even if you think you’ve contributed nothing to live, you are wrong. Your existence touches others and thus dominos through the lives of those you do not even know. One word could change the lives of many people without your knowledge. So, go easy on yourself!

“Don’t feel stupid if you don’t like what everyone else pretends to love.”

-Emma Watson

Who cares if Sally pretends to love football in order to become closer to her new boyfriend, and who cares if Steve pretends to like caviar to impress his “high-society” friends! Why not just be yourself!

Never feel dumb just because you admitted that you hate Opera or take pride in your love of slapstick comedies. What matters is that you’re being yourself, and someone out there will love you for it!

“She believed she could. So she did.”

-Unknown

Guess what you need to achieve your dreams? That’s right, all you have to do is believe. The power of the mind is amazing and even if you’re suffering from depression, one little morsel of belief can make your dreams come true!

“You don’t always need a plan. Sometimes you just need to breathe, trust, let go, and see what happens.”

-Mandy Hale

Making plans is good. It helps you keep track of all your responsibilities and helps you remember your social engagements, right? Well, sure it does, but why not try a bit of spontaneity?

If you’re worried about how things might turn out, why not just let go and see what happens. You might be surprised how things seem to fall into place, and then maybe they won’t. But that’s just the beauty of life. Try it once or twice, the change may be good for you.

“The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they have any.”

-Alice Walker

Don’t make the mistake of thinking you have no control of your life. The power you wield is the power that you gave to yourself. If you want to be more powerful then claim it. It’s there waiting for you!

Feeling better yet?

Maybe these feel-good quotes will take some time to set in. Maybe you need to read them a bit to get your heart racing and your blood pumping faster.

One thing is for certain, they give you a way to see your life in a whole new perspective. Now that feels good for a change, doesn’t it!
