Staying hydrated is a piece of advice that you will hear from most health experts and nutritionists. Everybody has heard the story about 8 glasses of water per day being the ultimate goal for a healthy metabolism.
Drinking enough water sounds like a simple task, but it’s not always easy to follow.
Many people don’t enjoy having a lot of plain water. They simply prefer juices, sodas or any other kind of liquids. The problem here is that these liquids, are adding a lot of calories and sometimes alcohol which is not going to help you to stay hydrated.

Now that colorful fruits are all over the market, beloved watermelon, cherries, strawberries, apricots, and nectarines are everywhere around us, it is the right time to make yourself a mitigating factor for this important mission in life.
The mission is simply to drink as much water as you can during the day. However, the water itself, no matter how wonderful it is, can sometimes be monotonous and uninviting.
How then do we make the water more attractive?
Why would you spend money on flavored waters from supermarkets when you can make your own creation in a few minutes.
The most famous homemade flavored water is the one with lemon and cucumber.
Only a few pieces of cucumber itself will change the taste and hydrating powers of your water.
Adding lemon will add some vitamins and a twist of freshness. Don’t forget to chill the water in the refrigerator before serving. You will not believe what kind of taste you will get.
Combine various fruits like apples and well-washed peel of watermelon, wild berries, and strawberries. But always have a cucumber base.
Add a little tropical feeling by adding a piece of pineapple together with pieces of coconut and kiwi. Be sure to prepare a good supply of flavored water in your refrigerator. You’ll find that you cannot wait to open a new bottle and enjoy every sip of it.
Cucumber lemon water as a base to all flavored waters is something that your body will be greatly thankful to you.
Cucumbers contain silica, which is great for your skin and muscles.
By staying hydrated, you will be helping your cardiovascular system and clean your organism from toxins. The levels of energy will be significantly increased and the performance of your body will be at its top. Cucumber lemon water is the best way to make water drinking a daily habit.
Adding fruits to cucumber lemon water will add some whole-food vitamins which will help you to absorb them better. There are many combinations.
You can add vegetables and fruits, but don’t forget the herbs. From ancient times, herbs have been added to many beverages to make them tastier and healthier.
Mint, for example, gives refreshing aroma and has many essential oils which are beneficial to your health. You can try many other herbs such as chamomile, linden flowers, sage, basil, oregano, Thyme, Verbena, Melissa… You actually don’t have to boil the water in order to get the essence of the herbs.
Herbal infusion works really well too.
Just place the fresh or dried herbs in a jar or a big bottle, add water and cucumbers and top with fresh water. Store it in a refrigerator for an hour or two and be surprised.
Health benefits of herbs, combined with minerals and vitamins from cucumber lemon water will make an elixir for super-powers. Try to make a different combination every day and enjoy all the great sensations both physically and mentally.
Making flavored water can easily become a hobby in which you can involve children. You can impress your guests with creative ideas of serving your flavored water. Even a slice or two of cucumber and lemon by itself looks very attractive.
You can come up with many more ideas by trying out some new and interesting combination.
