If we had to make a complete list of the uses and benefits of cannabis, that would have to be a huge one. Below we will explore just a few of the physical and spiritual advantages that cannabis has to offer.

Cannabis contains several hundred compounds called cannabinoids and each one holds different properties.

What is more impressive is that the human nervous system has special receptors for them (called cannabinoid receptors). One of the most famous cannabinoid compounds is CBD.

The Benefits of Cannabis on Mental and Physical Health

1. Mental Health

A healthy mindset is very important for all of us, but even more for those who suffer from serious illnesses.

Two of the most known healing properties of marijuana are its anti-depressant and anti-anxiety effects. While there are a lot of medications in the pharmacies fighting these conditions, the advantage of marijuana is that it does not cause any side effects in the patients.

Marijuana can, among others, improve the quality of sleep (which is a natural self-healing process) and help people with chronic insomnia and sleep disorders, often associated with stress and tension.

Being able to fight symptoms like psychosis, medical marijuana’s effects make it also an appropriate medicine against serious mental conditions like schizophrenia.

Another reported spiritual benefit of cannabis is the improved ability to focus on activities. Many people nowadays use it for improving experiences like meditation and yoga.

2. Physical Health

Let’s start with that: According to “The National Institute on Drug Abuse” of the US, marijuana has been proven to kill cancer cells. Cannabinoids are able to limit the expansion of tumors and prevent them from spreading and CBD oil offers multiple advantages to cancer patients.

Experiments have proven that cannabis use makes cancer cells die more quickly. Moreover, when medical marijuana is used in combination with chemotherapy, it brings much better results to the treatment. At the same time, it does not harm normal cells.

One of the most valuable benefits of medical marijuana is that it reduces pain, so it can be used by patients suffering from multiple sclerosis to limit their spasms.

Cannabis fights epileptic seizures and the Epilepsy Foundation “supports the rights of patients and families living with seizures and epilepsy to access physician-directed care, including medical marijuana.”

CBD hemp oil is able to reduce blood sugar, something very important for those who suffer from diabetes.

Another less known benefit of marijuana is that is a safe muscle relaxer. Although it is banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), athletes often use it in small quantities to improve their performances because it helps them increase their pain threshold during workouts.

The plant of cannabis (hemp and marijuana) is a potential financial rival for many different sectors and commercial enterprises. Subsequently, all competitors look to demonize cannabis in every possible way in order to protect their huge profits.

These were just a few examples of how cannabis can be beneficial for the body and the spirit. As the research progresses, we would expect far more impressive results in the future.
