Unbalanced chakras can be the reason for emotional problems or physical ones. These essential oils can help balance chakras.

Chakras are believed to be points of energy in the body that help us to regulate our bodily processes.

There are seven chakras in the human body:

  • Root
  • Sacral
  • Solar Plexus
  • Heart
  • Throat
  • Third eye4
  • Crown

The seven chakras are associated with certain locations on the body, interestingly when you look at the chakra chart, the positions on the body are located in glands and organs, influencing these organs.

Essential oils have been in use around the world in many different cultures for centuries and it’s only recently that the western world has acknowledged just how useful they are for ailments. Essential oils are best used when mixed with either coconut oil or a base oil such as Almond Oil. They can also be rubbed directly into the chakra areas.

We can use essential oils to help with ailments located near our seven chakras. These essential oils can help balance chakras and realign them; an unbalanced chakra can be the cause of stress, emotional problems or physical ones.

1. Root Chakra – Muladhara

This chakra is found at the base of the spine, this area is known for where our sense of security lies. Patchouli is best when trying to create a more enhanced sense of stability. Red is the Root Chakra color and we should try to eat red foods, and undertake things such as physical exercise, gardening and getting a good night sleep.

2. Sacral Chakra – Svadhistana

This chakra is found in the lower abdomen, 2 inches below the belly button and two inches in. This area is known for our creativity and sexuality. YlangYlang and Sandalwood are best as they can act as an aphrodisiac, it can aid our sexual and reproductive energies. Orange is the Sacral Chakra color.

3. Solar Plexus Chakra – Manipura

This chakra is found in the upper abdomen, in our stomach area. This is where our self-esteem and confidence is located. Cinnamon oil is great to help heat this power up and help improve both our self-esteem and confidence. Peppermint can be used when we want to cool things down. Yellow is the Solar Plexus color and is stimulated by things such as sunlight, reading, and education.

4. Heart Chakra- Anahata

This chakra is located in the middle of the chest, above the heart. This is where our romance and lovelies. Rose oil is used to enhance love. It can also help with sufferers of insomnia and depression. Green is the Heart Chakra color and is stimulated by walking outdoors and spending time with friends and family.

5. Throat Chakra – Visudha

This chakra can be found in the throat area and it is the center for our self-expression. Eucalyptus is great to clear our sinuses and can be used to help with a sore throat and coughing. When the passageway is cleared, you are free and able for self-expression. Blue is the throat chakra color.

6. Third Eye Chakra (Ajna)

This chakra can be found on the forehead, in between the eyes. This is the opening to our intuition. Lavender oil is so good for headaches and can help calm us down. When your third eye is blocked, you often will suffer regularly with headaches. When we use lavender oil to calm the mind, we are able to reach a higher level of consciousness. Indigo is the third eye chakra color.

7. Crown Chakra (Sahasrara)

This chakra is found right at the top of the head and it is our connection to beauty and to spirituality. A great oil for this is Frankincense, which has been around for thousands of years. This oil brings peace and clarity to the mind. Violet is the crown chakra color.



So the essential oils we should all have in our home to balance chakras are:
  • Root – Patchouli
  • Sacral – YlangYlang and Sandalwood
  • Solar Plexus – Cinnamon and Peppermint
  • Heart – Rose
  • Throat – Eucalyptus
  • Third eye – Lavender
  • Crown – Frankincense
