Remembering negative thoughts helps you prove them wrong. Just remember the believers as well, to prove them right.

No one really wants to dwell on negative thoughts, but unfortunately, they just do.

They are painful, not exactly like a physical injury, but they can be uncontrollable much in the same way. If your leg is broken, you don’t just “get over it” and “think positive“, without much-needed rest and help.

You take steps to regain your strength after such an injury – you avoid putting weight on it for a while, you endure physical therapy and you wait a few months until the injury is healed. This is how you deal with physical injuries. Negative thoughts, such as doubts sneak in like covert injuries, sometimes preventing you from accomplishing your goals.

With negative thoughts, there is no cure. Psychiatrists administer medicines and therapies and remind us of the never-ending positive aspects of life, but negative thoughts aren’t going anywhere. There are no rules and regimens that will change the way you view things. You will always have negative thoughts, and it’s not always a bad thing.

The gift of your thoughts

Try to think of negative thoughts in a positive way, if that makes sense. Negative thoughts can actually serve as a warning, revealing themselves as verbal instincts.

I have found that most people understand negative thoughts on a surface level, but these nervous admissions were contemplating, setting the stage to finding a solution to not just our present problems, but issues that could surface in the future. Negativity, believe it or not, can be seen as preparation, whereas all those ultra positive people are unprepared.

Honestly, I wouldn’t want to be in their shoes 24/7.

Instead of running full-speed toward an opportunity, my negative thoughts allow me to see the object of my interest, evaluate what I want and also analyze everything that could go wrong. I am not a negative person for having negative thoughts along with my goals. I am simply weighing my options before taking the leap.

Some see this mindset as a curse, while some see it as the heightened gift of intuition. I have looked at negative thoughts in both ways before. Yes, you can dwell far too long on the negativity and yet, you can run blindly into positive ignorance as well.

I think it would be nice if we could run forward in abandon with no worries, accomplishing every task that we set out to conquer, but unfortunately, that’s not realistic. And so, I advocate a certain dose of negative thought in with the other rainbows and unicorns dancing through my head.

I think it’s just part of being human. Nothing can be good all the time, and we fool ourselves if we think this way. It’s great to smile and hand out positive words, but it is unhealthy to reprimand those who have negative thoughts occasionally. It really just takes away our ability to rationalize and make a good stable decision.

Let’s learn to use negative thoughts for good!

First off, your thoughts are separate entities from your actions, know what I mean? Sometimes, despite what you’re thinking, you might want to do the opposite action. There are a few ways you can look at this idea and use it to utilize the strange talents of negative thoughts. These steps will help motivate you.

“I have no energy”

You may not think you can be active, but taking a few steps will help create an opposing force to your thoughts. As you take a few steps, tell yourself that you DO have energy. After repeating this action, both your mind and body will change directions.

Complete 2 tasks

While improving your energy, try completing a few, otherwise difficult tasks, per day. While doing these tasks, speak to yourself saying,” I can do this.” Try to choose tasks which can be repeated throughout the day in one-minute increments.

Make these tasks more difficult

After the first week of doing these simple tasks and taking these steps, try increasing the difficulty. Instead of taking a few steps, try jogging, or speed walking. Instead of doing small cleaning tasks, try cleaning a whole room.

Do this while saying, “I can’t do it“, but let it transform your language to a positive statement, such as,” I can do whatever I set my mind to accomplish“. You will slowly begin to realize that your thoughts do not control your behavior at all.

Now that you know how to have control, learn to accept a plethora of thoughts

So, now it’s time to accept your thoughts for what they are, and your feelings as well. These thoughts and feelings will change hundreds of times during the day and this doesn’t mean they are your enemies. Just let the feelings and even the negative thoughts in, and utilize them to change the outcome.

You can do this! Don’t be so hard on yourself and don’t let the pressure to be positive mold who you really are. Many will try to force you to think positive all the time, but you know what’s best for you. Just let go and let your thoughts have freedom.
