You can either be constantly stuck in a comfort zone or you can actually sit there and improve your life.
You could say that taking up something new, gives one a healthy dose of much-needed stress in life.
Once you do see what you are capable of and what new things that you can do, your limitations that have been holding you back cease to exist. Below are a few challenges to do to improve yourself and become a better person.
1. You Have Your Pick From Learning A New Language.
There are so many mainstream and different languages to learn. From Spanish, French, Mandarin, Urdu, Hindi, Farsi, etc.
Learning a new language helps you discover new things about yourself and how much you have to offer to yourself and as a person. And there is nothing wrong with an added skill. You can learn through taking up a class, tutoring or even use the app Duolingo.
2. Do The One Thing That Scares You.
Pick one thing that scares you tremendously and do it every day or at least once a week. Are you scared of heights? Go bungee-jumping. Do you have a fear of drowning? Take up swimming classes.
Just tell yourself, “No, I’m not scared and I will be fine.” You’ll be surprised with yourself and how much you will have accomplished.
3. Pick And Do A Hobby Or Class That You Have Been Postponing.
One of the best challenges to do is to take up a hobby or a class that you always wanted to but kept procrastinating it for a while. However, make sure whatever hobby you are thinking about doing, is separate from your career, that way you can relax, refresh your mind and recharge yourself with things.
For example, if you are in finance, try taking up the theater or acting classes.
4. Stay Updated And Attend Workshops And Career Seminars.
Don’t be comfortable when it comes to your job, and try to aim higher in your career. Look up workshops, seminars, conferences and meet different people in your industry. Build your networking, you’d be surprised how much you can learn from people, and you never know they can help you in the future.
5. Try And Invest For Your Future.
Try and make a realistic budget for yourself. Cut certain expenses that you don’t really need or you have but spending too much on. Identify on a Microsoft Excel document or even a piece of paper, and start your financial planning.
This way with the extra cash you save, you can invest for your future.
6. Exercise For At Least Nine Minutes A Day –Minimum.
If you can’t afford to go to an expensive gym, you can always work out in your living room or take a brisk walk around your neighborhood. You’d be surprised how just working out simply nine minutes a day can do for you.
You can increase your stamina, shed the extra weight, feel healthy, and increase the release of endorphins.
7. Travel, Go Out And Meet New People.
Trotting around the globe can be expensive, but visiting the local museum, or taking road trips, or a resort can be cost-effective. All the people you meet from these travels can be really educational and you never know you might end up genuinely connecting with some of them.
These are only some of the challenges to do for those who want to become better people.
The road to self-improvement is a never-ending one, so there are always be more ways to challenge yourself and become a better human being.
